An elegant early Victorian Villa located in a quiet St John’s Wood street, the project required a major overhaul and extension to the existing house. This involved the construction of a new single basement level, with the significant extension of the ground floor accommodation and a comprehensive re-configuration of the existing buildings’ upper floors.
FLINT were appointed as Interior Designers for the project and worked closely with the client and the buildings architect (Flanagan Lawrence) to design a light and airy 6 bedroom family home, with unique and flexible living spaces. This was achieved by maximizing the volume of the building and introducing a series of enfilade rooms where no corridors restrict the flow of space on the ground floor and the full length of the house can be appreciated from the front door.
High ceilings contribute to an overall sense of grandeur and natural daylight floods the rooms. The use of full height minimally framed glazing and sliding screens allow the space to be divided as required.
High quality materials have been used throughout and state-of-the-art services provide optimal environmental comfort and control.
