GREAT EASTERN STREET

AN OPPORTUNITY TO RESEARCH AND TO REINSTATE PARTS OF THE BUILDING'S HISTORIC PAST.

Shoreditch is unique in its buildings, its people and its culture. The refurbishment of the 80 Great Eastern Street entrance hall was an opportunity to research and to reinstate parts of the building's historic past and to better align the design of the space to tenant expectations looking to the building's next chapter in the future.

Analysis of the building's original street level elevation led to the reinstatement of the entrance in its original position. This key-move enabled a more logical spatial layout and entry sequence internally, improving visual connectivity with the reception desk and allowing for different furniture settings to be positioned nearer to the 'shop-window' enjoying better connection with natural daylight and the world outside.
