QUEEN VICTORIA STREET

REPOSITIONING COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE TO DELIVER SUSTAINABLE WORKSPACES.

Located in the City of London close to St Paul's Cathedral and originally designed by Sheppard Robson in 2002, the building was acquired by Fidelity International on behalf of a newly created European real estate climate impact fund, which makes direct property investments aimed at supporting the mitigation of climate change and the transition to net zero carbon. It aims to achieve this objective by refurbishing and repositioning predominantly commercial real estate in Western Europe to deliver sustainable workspaces.

Working in collaboration with Flanagan Lawrence Architects, we sought to create a sequence of contemporary spaces that are more welcoming and capable of accommodating a variety of different styles of business and serving as an benchmark for healthy and inspiring contemporary workspace. We rationalized the interior layout and developed designs for both front-of-house space and end of trip facilities. The central atrium connecting all floors has been enhanced with an elegant slatted timber veil which spans from the lower ground floor to the glazed roof.
